Types of facilities include: United States penitentiaries, pre-release guidance centers, Federal prison camps, Federal reformatories, Federal correctional institutions, Federal detention centers, and medical centers. Subjects that are covered include: prisoners' rules and regulations; administrative organization; buildings and grounds; prisoners' welfare; prisoners' maintenance; general matters such as civil rights, escapes, communists, the Federal Youth Correctional Act, fines, lynching, military, parole, peonage, population, probation, recidivists; prison labor; general accounts; policy issuances; marshals; riots and strikes; and other miscellaneous matters.
